The functionality of Speaker Pop involves detecting a distinct 'pop' signal emitted by the speaker and utilizing DSP analysis to ascertain the direction in which the speaker cone is moving.

As part of its extensive functionality, the app offers stereo and surround test signals for download from its website, designed for easy burning onto CDs or DVDs. Notably, advanced DVD burning software may be necessary for encoding surround files—Toast has been highlighted as a compatible option.
